In 2016 artist Marisa Papen dressed up as a firefighter to get herself onto the roof of the iconic ‘Hermès’ store in Biarritz. Drawn to the authentic feel of the vintage sign she figured out a resourceful way to capture and eternalize the sign in a highly esthetic way.
a piece of LUXURY history
Soon after the store would be entirely renovated, thus the vintage sign on the roof. Making this oeuvre the only artistic creation in the world to hold this unique piece that represents the rich and authentic history of the iconic luxury brand.
The photo is printed on baryta fine art paper and mounted on floating dibond within a handmade Nilsen frame. The fine art print measures 50x70cm and is protected with museum glass. Accompanied by a certificate signed by the artist.
ABOUT the artist
Ever since Marisa started expressing herself in front of the camera, she has been pushing boundaries. As much as society’s as her own.
